Cardinal Health will purchase a majority stake in GI Alliance, the top gastroenterology management services organization in the country.
GI Alliance operates a multi-specialty platform that will further expand both nationally and in other key therapeutic areas, while building upon the technology and specialty practice capabilities acquired by Cardinal Health in the previously announced acquisitions of Specialty Networks and Integrated Oncology Network.
“Cardinal Health and GI Alliance share the same vision of creating a doctor-led, national specialty healthcare platform that will be the top choice for patients looking for reliable, high-quality care,” said Dr. James Weber, chief executive officer of GI Alliance. “This partnership unites two organizations committed to providing excellent care and improved support for doctors, which adds greater value.”
The GI Alliance the premier physician-owned network of GI practices in the United States. GI Alliance supports practice management for nearly 900 independent gastroenterologists, delivering the highest quality of GI care for patients in 400 practice locations across the country.
